The death of Mullah Mansoor Dadullah - one of the two leaders of the Taliban who along with Mullah Akhtar Mansoor divided the terrorist group following the death of former leader Mulla Omar - was confirmed after his dead body was found in the house of one of his followers.

"His dead body was found in the house of Mullah Abdullah Haqmal, one of the Taliban militia who has joined the ISIL," an informed source said on Tuesday.

"His body has been riddled with bullets but his face is intact and has not sustained any injury," he added.

Noting that none of the Taliban members has claimed responsibility for Dadullah's death, the source said members of the rival group, the Taliban of Mullah Akhtar Mansour, pretend that he has been killed by the Uzbek armed militants. "The decision to kill Mullah Mansour Dadullah had been taken since long time ago, while he was also a high priority target of Pakistan."

Media reports had said on November 12 that Dadullah had been killed in clashes in Southern Afghanistan.

Tolo News had quoted Afghan officials as saying that “Mullah Mansour Dadullah – deputy leader of the new breakaway Taliban group – was killed in clashes in Zabul".

Fierce clashes were ongoing between two rival Taliban groups in Southern Afghanistan. Skirmishes have been taking place in Southern Zabul province between fighters loyal to the widely-recognized Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour and followers of Mansoor Dadullah, a deputy of splinter-group leader Mohamed Rasool who announced his own faction in November.

Dadullah, the brother of a top Taliban military commander, Mullah Dadullah Akhund, had rejected Akhtar Mansour as the new leader and even claimed that Mullah Omar had not died of natural causes but was killed.

The mainstream Taliban under Mullah Akhtar Mansour is intimate with Pakistan and its military intelligence ISI.

Dadullah's faction pledged loyalty to the ISIL terrorist group in November.
