Turkish authorities crack down on protests against Government

turkish crakdownThe Turkish Security forces on Monday cracked down on tens of thousands of Turkish citizens who took part in massive popular protests against the government of the Justice and Development Party's attempts to ban celebrations on the 89th anniversary for the Establishment of the Republic.

Turkish Yurt newspaper said that Turkish nationals coming from various cities gathered outside the First Turkish Council in Ankara where security forces prevented them from going to the monument of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk.
In the same context the Turkish authorities prevented 10 busses coming from various cities to take part in the massive protests from entering the city of Ankara .
The newspaper added that this year has witnessed angry reactions against the governor of Ankara who banned celebrations on the Republic's Day.
