bahranies partiesThe National Democratic Opposition Parties in Bahrain condemn the bombing in Ekar area that was claimed by an unknown party calling itself al-Mokhtar Brigade.

Bahrain’s 5 main opposition parties and alliances issued following statement in their

reaction to the Ekar bombing.

We, the National Democratic Opposition Parties, strongly condemn all acts of violence that contradict with the Bahrainis’ pledge to keep their demands movement peaceful and nonviolent.

We commend the Bahraini people’s good awareness of what’s behind these suspicious incidents and the serious consequences of slipping into violence. The people of Bahrain have clearly adopted a nonviolent approach and reject all forms of violence or bombing targeting lives and property.

We reiterate our condemnation of any violent acts committed by al-Mokhtar Brigade or al-Ashtar Brigade or any other party under whatever title.

The wide nonviolent pro-democracy movement in Bahrain is supported by national figures of various factions and it is clearly pictured in the gigantic peaceful marches that have repeatedly filled the streets. However, the regime and the international community have given the people of Bahrain the blind eye, though, the Bahrainis will not give up on their legitimate and peaceful demand for democratic transition.

The denounced acts of the anonymous al-Mokhtar and al-Ashtar brigades clearly contradict our approach and strategy, and thus considered to play the spoiler to the opposition’s efforts to reach a political solution. Political solution in Bahrain requires an easing of the tense security situation and removal of all security checkpoints and roadblocks which the private sector and investors have become frustrated by. The regime must also stop its reprisal of dissidents and release all prisoners of conscience. The Bahraini authority is called on to engage in a genuine dialogue which the outcomes of are put for referendum that acts as a popular reference to fail any spoilers of potential political solution.
