The minor criminal court adjourned on Wednesday (September 7, 2016) the trial of the Shiite cleric Sheikh Fadel Al-Zaki until September 21 for pleading, refusing to release him on a bail.
Al-Zaki, along with a number of Shiite clerics, is tried over the charge of assembly in Diraz based on participation in the open sit-in protest in front of Sheikh Isa Qassim's house since June 20, after the authorities revoked his citizenship.
It is to mention that Al-Zaki was summoned for interrogation on August 6, 2016. He was detained to be presented to the prosecution that arrested him for 15 days pending investigation, after charging him with assembly.
