international day bahrainThe Bahraini opposition parties announced their adoption of 14 February an "International day to support democracy in Bahrain" as recommended by the 'Int'l Conference in Support of Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain' which was hosted in the Capital of Beirut last December.

Al-Marzooq pointed out that programs have started in a number of capitals around the globe and events organized in these capitals will be announced. He said, Bahrainis and friends supporting demands for democracy in Bahrain have taken the initiative to organize and support these events. "There will be intensive work to make this day a starting point to support democracy in Bahrain, and build a global system which supports the legitimate and humanitarian demands of the people of Bahrain at the level of state departments and legislative and parliamentary entities, and at the level of parties and international research centers, and global and national institutions, before and after the February revolutionary season".

"We expect a counter-campaign to the pro-democracy campaign, like what happened to the reforming revolution in Bahrain, some will act in support for the just and humanitarian demands for rights and democracy and will be a friend to the people of Bahrain, while some will hinder the rights of the Bahrainis, whether from inside or outside Bahrain, and they will be a foe to these rights".

He added, since the regime is communicating distorted images of the people's movement to the world in attempts to plant fear from the demanding movement in Bahrain, we , as essential popular parties have every right to communicate with the international community to say that the international human rights and democracy standards that you support must be entitled to the Bahraini people and you take responsibility for standing with the regime as a fending wall to these democratic entitlements.
