Speaking at a ceremony marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (A), Hujjat al-Islam Dirbaz, the representative of West Azerbaijan province in the Assembly of Experts, spoke of the dangerous objectives the deviant Wahhabi sect in the current era.

His Eminence said that these “Days of Power” during the holy month of Ramadan contain the best opportunities to eliminate hatred and establish peace and friendship among humankind. Thus, it is important to make use of these days.

Hujjat al-Islam Dirbaz referred to the groups involved in propagating deviant thoughts in society, saying that when people are unaware of religion, they will fall into an intellectual crisis. “Two-faced individuals and pretenders are the most important factors in society’s intellectual deviation. If such people exist in society, the society will be struck and will never advance,” he said.

He added that these deviant thoughts in society are an obstacle to the progress and prosperity of the people. “Another suitable example of these deviant groups in the world today are the activities of the ISIL terrorist group and leaders of the Wahhabi sect. By injecting poisonous Western and barbarian thoughts [into Islam], these groups are trying to destroy the pure face of Islam in the world to achieve their sinister goals.”

Hujjat al-Islam Dirbaz said that war against hypocrites and the enemies of Islam as occurred throughout Islamic history and it is an inescapable fact. “However,” he added, “In the current era, it is the religious duty of all Muslims to maintain harmony, unity and strong morality against the enemies of Islam. Muslims must also be very aware.”
