Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif told “Today will be finished all kinds of embargo on Iran over nuclear program”. He added “Today is a good and a memorable day for the people of Iran and the region and the world”

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says “all oppressive sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic will be annulled today.”

“Today, with the submission of the report by the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the JCPOA will in fact become implemented, and after that, a joint statement… will be read out to announce the implementation,” Zarif told reporters on arrival in Vienna.

“We think that the implementation of the JCPOA is not only a very good opportunity for the Iranian people by which all the cruel Security Council sanctions, all the IAEA Board of Governors end and officially annulled, but all the cruel sanctions that have been imposed over the nuclear issue against the Islamic Republic will God willing be annulled… and this is a very good day for the Iranian people,” Zarif said.

“But, besides, we believe that this is a very good day for the region; our region will be relieved of the shadow of an unnecessary conflict that could have caused worry for this region,” he said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is in Vienna for talks with EU and US officials on the implementation of a nuclear agreement to put decades of confrontation behind.
The minister is accompanied by head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi and AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is expected to announce that Iran has honored its commitments under the agreement, called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Press TV reports.
Zarif will meet US Secretary of State John Kerry and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. The IAEA report will allow them to announce that the JCPOA can go into force.
Zarif and Mogherini are expected to issue a joint statement on the “Implementation Day", marking the lifting of sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States – plus Germany finalized the JCPOA in the Vienna, on July 14.
Under the JCPOA, limits are put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for the removal of sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

Iran took the final step in the implementation of the accord on Thursday when it removed the core of the Arak heavy water reactor and filled it with cement.

“We carried out the last stage of the removal of the Arak reactor’s heart and today our job was completely done,” Kamalvandi said.

The EU had already expressed preparedness to lift its economic sanctions against Iran as soon as the UN nuclear agency verifies Tehran’s compliance.

Diplomatic sources said on Friday that the 28-member bloc alongside the US and UN can end their sanctions against Tehran on the “Implementation Day."

On Friday, US President Barack Obama lifted a decades-old ban on the export of civilian passenger aircraft to Iran, officials said in Washington.

An IAEA report verifying that Iran has kept its promises under last year's nuclear deal with world powers and triggering sanctions relief for Tehran is likely to be issued on Saturday, a diplomatic source told Reuters on Friday.

In a sign its implementation may be at hand, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy Chief Federica Mogherini will meet in Vienna on Saturday, the U.S. State Department said.

"All parties have continued making steady progress towards Implementation Day of the JCPOA, which will ensure the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program," said State Department spokesman Mark Toner, referring to the formal title of the deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

"Almost all details are ironed out," said another diplomatic source, based in the Austrian capital.
