Leader slams US presence in Mideast

Ayatollah-Syed-Ali-KhameneiLeader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has slammed the US presence in the Middle East.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Washington has spent a huge
 budget on launching wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Leader also said the US has spent a lot of money on helping Israel maintain instability in the Middle East.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Islam is opposed to such powers, describing them as corrupt.

He also noted that those moves are against divine tradition.

The Leader said those powers are in a state of downfall while the Muslim world is becoming increasingly vigilant.

Ayatollah Khamenei also urged unity among all Muslim nations.

He made the remarks in a meeting with top Iranian officials and foreign ambassadors. The gathering was held on the occasion of Eid-al-Mab'ath-- the day when Muslim Prophet Muhammad was appointed to prophethood.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Prophet Muhammad's message was justice, peace, and security for all humans.
