Aytatullah Khamenei Calls Free Referendum in Palestine as Only Way to Resolve Palestinian Issue

shiitenews syed ali khamnaiSupreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for holding a free referendum in the entire Palestinian lands (including those under the Israeli occupation) to determine the fate of the country, and rejected the plans which envisage division of Palestine.     

"We neither propose dumping the migrant Jews in the sea nor the UN arbitration, rather our proposal includes a referendum to be participated by all Palestinians," Ayatollah Khamenei

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the US President Barack Obama's remarks that Israel's security is Washington's "Red Line", and said Obama should know that this red line will be crossed by the awakened nations of the region. 

The 5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada started work here in Tehran on Saturday morning. 

Over 50 parliamentary delegations and political figures, elites and intellectuals and many state officials from Muslim and non-Muslim countries have participated in the event in support of the Palestinian intifada. 

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani chairs the two-day conference. 

The Iranian top legislator is also slated to hold separate meetings with several parliamentary delegations on the sidelines of the conference. 

According to the secretary of the conference, parliamentary delegations from Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Indonesia, Kuwait, Paraguay, Zimbabwe, Zanzibar, Comoros, Malawi, Egypt, Oman, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Malaysia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Sudan, Bolivia, Caucasus, Hungary, Colombia, Tanzania, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan are present in the meeting.

He also dismissed the West's plots to disintegrate Palestine, and said, "Today the West is standing on a crossroad and it should either leave its age-old bullying and recognize the rights of the Palestinians or wait for harder blows in the near future."
