Syrian-Syrian solution possible without foreign meddling, FM

ali akberForeign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in Cairo, Egypt, Thursday that the Syrian-Syrian solution with no foreign interference is the only way to resolve the ongoing political crisis in Syria.

Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with UN special envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi, a statemnet

issued by Foreign Ministry Informationa Center said.
Salehi is currently in Egypt to discuss major bilateral and regioinal issues, including political crisis in Syria, with senior Egyptian officials.
According to the Iranian minister, the Syrian-Syrian solution along with the halt of violence in Syria and holding national dialogue were the only ways to end the ongoing crisis in Syria.
Referring to the critical situation in Syria, Salehi stressed the need to make continuous efforts to resolve crisis Syria.
He further hailed Brahimi's endeavor to achieve to this end, expressing Iran's readiness to cooperate to put an end to Syrian conflicts.
Salehi then reiterated Iran's clear stand on Syria which was taken from the outset of the conflicts in that country.
Meanwhile, Brahimi, for his part, elaborated on the latest developments in Syria as well as his activities towards ending conflicts in that country.
The UN special envoy further thanked Tehran for proposing six-point plan for Syria and referred to Iran as an important country in the region whose influence could be used to serve regional interests.
The two also reviewed President Bashar al-Assad's recent plan, stressing the importance of continuation of talks on Syria.
