Addressing Experts Assembly members, the Supreme Leader added that

belief in Islam, firm resolve and maintaining an spirit of hopefulness are the main factors behind the country moving forward, achieving success and removing obstacles.

Long-term attitude towards managerial issues as well as the ideals of the Islamic establishment are among the necessary elements for materializing the objectives, Ayatollah Khamenei said, noting that such a long-term attitude will help develop a correct understanding about the issues.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that one of the duties of scholars is to help maintain the spirit of hopefulness among people, the youth in particular.

“One of the signs of hopefulness is the continuation of the nation’s progress,” he said, noting that problems will certainly be solved and there are numerous signs of hope.

“The Iranian nation’s dignity in the Islamic world, dominance of religious discourse in the society, scientific and technological progress, political and international influence of the Islamic establishment and justice-related infrastructural measures are among the wonderful instances of progress which were once considered impossible before the victory of the Islamic Revolution,” he said.

Another sign of progress is the enemies’ anger and embarrassment, the Supreme Leader said, noting that if there had not been any breakthrough, the enemies would have not been so angry as they are now.

Ayatollah Khamenei described nuclear issue a one of the challenges facing the Islamic establishment and said, “Of course the challenge has not been harmful to us and it will never be.”

Referring to Iran-G5+1 talks in Almaty, the Leader said that the westerners did not do something important; rather they admitted to a small section of the Iranian nation’s rights.

Sanctions are among other challenges, the Supreme Leader said, noting that they were imposed on the country apparently due to the countryˈs nuclear program, but the main reason is a long-term objective sought by the westerners.

They want to pit the people against the ruling system through the sanctions, Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that peopleˈs massive turnout in rallies marking the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution revealed that their efforts were futile.

The Leader also said that the people will also actively take part in the upcoming presidential elections.

Banning imports of certain goods to the country is in the interest of the country, he noted, adding that the sanctions prompted the nation to try to attain self-confidence.
Present in the meeting were the chairman and members of the Experts Assembly.
