iran clericHujjat-ol-Islam Hamed Alam ol Hoda, Deputy of Iran Affairs at the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on Islamic unity as a basic principle highlighting the remarks

by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution on importance of realizing a unified Islamic Ummah (nation).

He said,” What we have pictured is importance of Islamic proximity not as a temporary rather as a permanent strategy and that means we do not view Islamic unity merely as our present need but we believe it is a constant necessity for any Islamic society.”

Senior scholar highlighted Islam as a superpower in the present world and warned if there is the least disagreement in an Islamic society, then it cannot be capable enough and the enemies are quite aware of the fact because all their plots from their presence in Afghanistan and Iraq, to their plans to kill Muslims by Christians in Central Africa and by Buddhists in Burma is due to their huge concerns over the fact that once Muslims are united in a great body then no superpower is capable of standing against them.

He said,” Due to the concerns of the enemies over solidarity of Muslims that all their efforts are focused on dispersing Muslims under different pretexts including difference among Islamic denominations, segregation, sectarianism or dividing Muslim communities.”

Deputy of Iran Affairs at the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought also warned against the threat of Takfir as an extremist and deviate movement and highlighted the role of scholars in confrontation with the issue.

He noted,” It is agreed among all Islamic denominations that no one can excommunicate the people of Kibla, Muslims who pray towards one direction (Kibla) and declare their belief in monotheism and that the life, properties, reputation and family of such a person have to be protected by all Muslims.”

He added,” We Muslims cannot hurt even the non-believers and only fight with those who fight us in the battle field which is called Jihad, while what extremist Takfiri groups do is absolutely different from Jihad and they have no justification for their criminal actions.”

Hujjat-ol-Islam Alam ol Hoda noted that what Takfiri groups do are denounced not only by Muslims but by Human Rights organizations and the world calls them as terrorism.
