Iraqi tribesmen have found a depot of Jordan-made weapons belonging to ISIL Takfiri militants in northern part of the country.

The militants fled the depot, located in the town of Dhuluiyah in Salahuddin Province, after they came under attack by local tribesmen, said Fallah al-Isawi, deputy head of Iraq's Awakening Councils, on Tuesday.

The depot contains “200 mortar shells and over 23 heavy machine guns,” Isawi added.

“The ISIL terrorists fled Dhuluiyah and its neighboring villages, and the situation in the area is better than the previous days.”

The ISIL terrorists, of whom many are foreign militants, currently control parts of eastern Syria and Iraq’s northern and western regions.

They have been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including mass executions and beheadings of people.

The Western governments have contributed to the rise of the ISIL terrorists by sponsoring the militants fighting against the government in Syria.

The militants received training to use light and heavy weapons with the help of the US government at a secret base in Jordan in 2012, informed Jordanian officials say.

The officials, who were not identified, revealed to American news website WorldNetDaily (WND) that dozens of ISIL members were trained as part of covert aid to militants fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
