Iraq's Badr Organization voiced readiness to help Ansarullah movement in defending Yemen against the Saudi aggression.

Thousands of the members of the Badr Organization held a protest rally in Baghdad on Tuesday night to condemn the Saudi aggression against Yemen and show solidarity with the Yemeni nation and popular uprising.

"A large number of Iraqi people are ready to take part in defending Yemen against Saudi Arabia if the Ansarullah leader voices his agreement," Iraqi MP from Badr Fraction Moin al-Kazzemi said on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Iraqi citizens held similar protests against the Saudi invasion of Yemen in Basra, Southern Iraq, and other parts of the country.

Separate mass rallies were held across Iraq in condemnation of the ongoing Saudi-led offensives against Yemen.

According to reports, thousands of Iraqi people took to the streets of Baghdad on Tuesday, and expressed their wrath over Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

People of Iraq's Southern city of Basra also staged similar demonstration, chanting anti-Saudi slogans.

The protesters carried portraits of the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for seven days now to restore power to fugitive Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi airstrikes have killed at least, 198, mostly women and children, and injured hundreds more.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh's claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

Five Persian Gulf States -- Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait -- and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US have declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued earlier Thursday.

US President Barack Obama authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to the military operations, National Security Council Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said late Wednesday night.

She added that while US forces were not taking direct military action in Yemen, Washington was establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate US military and intelligence support.
