Head of the Iraqi Parliament's Security and Defense Committee Hakem al-Zameli said the situation in Anbar province is under control, adding that the US-led coalition has refrained from conducting airstrikes on ISIL positions in Anbar despite Iraq's repeated requests.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Hakem al-Zameli said that situation in Anbar is under control, and dismissed media reports claiming that ISIL terrorists made gains in the province as an ISIL attempt to break the Iraqi forces' morals.

He further said that enforcements are flowing to the province, adding that the number of ISIL terrorists is not too high as some media reports claim.

He also condemned the position of the US-led coalition, saying the coalition has not conducted any airstrikes against ISIL positions despite Iraqi requests.
