Security forces saved lives of 1,000 people in Ramadi: OHCHR

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Iraq announced on Friday, that the security forces managed to save a thousand people, mostly women and children, in the city of Ramadi, while transferred them to camps in Habbaniyah.

Member of the commissioner, Fadel Ghraoui, said in a statement that, “The Anti-Terrorism and Anbar police rescued 1,000 civilians in Ramadi, mostly women and children, and transferred them to a camp in Habbaniyah.”

Ghraoui stated, “The security forces are securing and preserving the lives of civilians in Ramadi,” noting that, “The transport of families comes in coordination with the local authorities in Anbar.”
