jos_iraq_blast Dozens of Shia Muslim martyred on friday series of bomb incidents in Baghdad have been buried amid calls for a three-day mourning period after the deadliest day in Iraq this year. Shortly after dawn, half a dozen funeral processions headed from the vast eastern Baghdad slum of Sadr City to the holy Shiite city of Najaf, about 100 miles to the south. Most of the
devout Shiites buried their dead just hours after Friday's bombings martyred about 70 Shia people across Baghdad. Most of the Baghdad targets were Shiite mosques. In all, at least 70 people were martyred in attacks across Iraq. Women in black cloaks comforted crying boys in Sadr City funerals, and anguished men held posters of clerical leaders as they marched.
