An upcoming dialogue between Hezbollah and the Future Movement will not tackle Hezbollah’s arms or the Syrian crisis, Speaker Nabih Berri was quoted as saying.
“The resistance's weapons and Syria are not on the dialogue agenda,” Berri told visitors late Thursday.
"If there are many issues of disagreement and a few issues of agreement between the two parties, doesn’t this mean that dialogue should be based on the issues of agreement?”
Nevertheless, Berri said he had yet to receive the proposed agendas from both sides so that he could draw up a summary of the issues for discussion and introduce his own proposals.
The speaker hailed the Future Movement for adopting a “more positive stance” recently, adding that dialogue would most likely take place before the year’s end.
He also expressed a desire to have the dialogue held at his residence in Ain al-Tineh or in Parliament.
