ABNA reported that Lebanese writer and social activist now faces prosecution for insulting king of Saudi Arabia by hitting king's picture in the face with shoe.

Protesting to the politics of Saudi regime for supporting ISIS terrorists and waging war on Yemeni oppressed people, Hesham Zayat on Monday put pictures of Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz (current and previous king of Saudi regime), Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, Saudi Grand Mufti, and Saud al-Faisal, former Saudi Foreign Minister in one banner and kept hitting their faces with shoe in Abou Deib Square in the city of Tyre, Lebanon.

To convey his message of protest to the others, Hesham also put some photos of the event on his Facebook page and faced a great welcome from the users who praised him for protesting Saudi politics in the region.

But contrary to what was expected, Lebanese judicial authorities put Hesham under arrest for what they allegedly say is insulting Saudi King!

"What I did was a peaceful protest against Saudi harmful politics in the region. According to the Constitution it is our right to express our political views in a free and democratic space," Hesham told in a conversation with amedia in Southern Lebanon.

"Unfortunately, we have always seen how others have insulted our political and religious leaders, Such asSayyed Hassan Nasrallah, but Lebanese security forces and our judicial system have never had any conflict with them," Hesham Zayat added.
