Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says the conflict in Syria is not between Shiite and Sunni Muslims as some are attempting to depict it.

Speaking earlier this month in a meeting with a number of Hezbollah resistance fighters, Sayyed Nasrallah elaborated on the movement’s engagement in Syria as a decisive war against Takfiri terrorists "who know no boundaries”.

Hezbollah fighters are also combating alongside the Syrian army and allied forces against the terrorists in Syria.

Referring to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks months ago about his so-called desire to perform prayers in the Grand Mosque in Damascus (hinting at his hope to see the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad), the Hezbollah leader said that now it has become impossible for Erdogan to even say prayers in Aleppo (which is near the border with Turkey). Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011.

Syria blames Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Israeli regime and some Western countries for supporting Takfiri terrorist groups including ISIS and al-Nusra Front in their atrocities inside the country.

UN special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict, which has also displaced over half of the Arab country’s pre-war population of about 23 million.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sayyed Nasrallah described Saudi Arabia as becoming a hurdle to liberation of Palestine. Nasrallah slammed Saudi regime's polices in the region and said the regime has turned into an obstacle to efforts to liberate Palestine.
