moahmmad-raadHezbollah says Israel's decision to withdraw troops from the northern part of the border village of al-Ghajar is a "trick" devised by Tel Aviv in collusion with the United Nations.

"The Israeli withdrawal from the northern sector of Ghajar, placing it under the tutelage of the United Nations, preventing the Lebanese army from deploying and keeping civilian affairs in the hand of the Israeli enemy which occupies the southern sector of the village is not a pullout,

The Lebanese MP said the Israelis' move was only a theatrical show, and he accused the United Nations of colluding with the Israeli government in the pullout scheme.

"The Israeli enemy wants to show that it has fully pulled out from Lebanese territory," Raad stated, adding, "This is maneuvering in complicity with the United Nations."

He went on to say that the UN connived with the Israelis in the "trick," which was "cooked up at night with its secretary general" in an effort to show that the Jewish entity was complying with the provisions of the UN resolution.

According to UN Resolution 1701, which ended Israel's war on Lebanon in 2006, Israeli troops must stay out of Lebanon.

Last week, Israeli ministers approved plans to pull troops out of the village on the Lebanese border, placing the area which fell under Israeli occupation in 1967 under the United Nations mandate.

Israeli troops withdrew from the northern part in 2000, when the UN affirmed Lebanon's territorial rights over the area.

Israel invaded southern Lebanon and re-occupied the northern half of Ghajar during the 2006 Lebanon War.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raad said Hezbollah has repeatedly called on Tel Aviv to "fully" withdraw from Lebanese territories, including the Shebaa Farms.

Shebaa Farms is a group of 14 farms close to the poorly-defined border of Lebanon and Syria.

Lebanon says that Israeli troops must withdraw from the Shebaa Farms area, but Tel Aviv says that Shebaa is part of Syrian territory and its status must be discussed in talks with Damascus.
