The first popular force of the Syrian people was formed in Quneitra, Golan Heights, in Southwestern Syria to confront the terrorists sponsored by Israel.

The terrorists stationed in bordering areas between Syria and Israel provide the regime with intelligence about the conditions and developments inside the Arab country and take orders from Tel Aviv to fulfill terrorist operations in Syria.

During the last 24 hours, the Syrian Kurdish forces recaptured more than a third of the villages around Kobani from ISIL terrorists since routing them from the town a fortnight ago.

"The (Kurdish) People's Protection Units (YPG) have recaptured 128 villages out of some 350 in the past two weeks," said Rami Abdel Rahman, the director of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The YPG recaptured Kobani on the border with Turkey from ISIL terrorists on January 26.

"The IS(IL) withdrew from villages East and South of Kobani mostly without resistance, but fought hard to try to keep control of villages to the West," said Abdel Rahman.

"That's because it wants to try to protect areas under its control in Aleppo province. But the Kurds are steadily advancing," he said.

Also on Sunday, anti-government militants sustained a heavy toll on the outskirts of Idlib and Lattakia, as the Syrian army intensified its offensive on the Takfiri groups.

The army troops raided the gathering centers of the rebels in the areas of Abu al-Duhour, Kansafra, al-Hubeit, Khan Sheikhoun, al-Yaqoubiyeh and Nahla in Idlib, killing and injuring a large number of them.

Also, the insurgents suffered major losses in the villages of al-Farz, Wadi al-Sheikhan and Ghmam, as the army made more gains in the Northern countryside of the Lattakia.

The Syrian Army also continued crackdown on militants, including the ISIL terrorists, in several areas across the country, killing and wounding so many anti-government fighters and arresting too many others in the battlefields.

The ISIL terrorists in Hasaka and Homs sustained heavy losses in conflicts with the Syrian army forces.

Also in the last 24 hours, the tribal forces which support the Syrian army fulfilled successful operations against the ISIL terrorists in Deir al-Zour.

Syria has been the scene of insurgency since 2011 when certain western powers and their regional allies voiced loudly that Syrian protests have no diplomatic solution and they started supplying the country's opposition groups with their arms and funds.

In 2014, specially after victory of President Bashar al-Assad in the country's presidential election, the army has gained upper hand in its anti-terrorism campaign, and has been partly successful in sealing borders with Turkey and Jordan.
