s activities (in the region) and it is now present in Qatar and Kuwait… ," Al-Rai news website quoted Abdul Rahman Al-Jayran as saying on Monday.

The Kuwaiti lawmaker noted that the ISIL will not last long in Kuwait because the group does not follow the Holy Quran and the Sharia of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Al-Jayran's remarks came after ISIL attacked two Shiite mosques in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, over the past two weeks causing concerns in the Persian Gulf states about the terrorist group.

Last Sunday, Kuwait's interior ministry announced that the country's security forces have arrested several suspects on the charge of plotting to bomb mosques in the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) countries.

"Seven members of a secret group who intended to disrupt stability, stir sectarian strife and plotted to bomb mosques in the PGCC states have been arrested," the ministry said.

Kuwait announced that it has intensified security after receiving intelligence on the presence of some secret groups in the Arab country that intend to carry out terrorist explosions there.

On May 22, at least 21 people lost their lives and 97 others sustained injuries in a bomb attack carried out by the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group against a Shiite mosque in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.

The figures were announced by Saudi Health Minister Khalid al-Faleh following the attack, which took place at Imam Ali (PBUH) Mosque in the village of al-Qadeeh, located in the oil-rich kingdom’s Qatif province and more than 420 kilometers (260 miles) East of the capital, Riyadh.

A bomber reportedly blew himself up in the mosque as more than 150 people had gathered for Friday prayers.

Later in the day, the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.

The UAE-based 24 news website reported that ISIL terrorists operating in the PGCC countries have received a green light from certain unnamed parties to conduct terrorist operations, including the bomb attack at Imam Ali mosque in Al-Qadeeh village in Saudi Arabia's Al-Qatif province.

Following the bombing, a large number of people took to the streets in Qatif to denounce the terrorist attack. The protesters also chanted slogans to show their anger at Saudi officials over the deadly blast.
