The ISIL terrorist group executed several own members, including three senior field commanders, in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur on charges of lack of courage and ability to win battles against the Syrian government forces, local sources said.

"Fowaz al-Jadi'e and Abu Sakaha al-Akidi (known as Abu Ayhim al-Sharei) with the Syrian nationality and Norous al-Hamdan (known as Abu al-Bara'a al-Tikriti) from Iraq were executed by the ISIL terrorists on charges of fleeing the battlefields," the sources said.

A report said on Sunday that the Syrian army foiled an attempt by the ISIL terrorist group to penetrate into its military positions in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur military airport, killing over 50 Takfiri terrorists in tough battle with them.

The ISIL terrorists tried to break into the army lines in the vicinity of Deir Ezzur military airport, but were pushed back.

At least 50 Takfiri terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured in heavy clashes with the Syrian government troops.

The ISIL's armored and military vehicles were also completely damaged in a counter-offensive of the Syrian army near Deir Ezzur airbase.
