Mubarak says he won't run for re-election

egypt_presidentEmbattled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has announced that he will not run for re-election as millions of people are demanding that he step down.Mubarak made the remarks in a televised address late on Tuesday night in which he said he would stay in office until the next presidential election, which is scheduled to be held in autumn 2011,Shiite News reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, about two million people took to the streets of Cairo to pressure Mubarak to step down, and the total number of protesters across the country hit five million, Press TV reported.

Tuesday's protests were the biggest anti-government demonstrations in Egypt's recent history.
