shiitenews_Bahrainis_plan_new_Friday_protestsSecurity forces remain on alert in Bahrain as demonstrators have planned yet another mass-protest rally against the Al Khalifa regime.

Anti-regime demonstrators are expected to pour onto the streets for another Friday demonstration.According to the Shiite News monitoring desk report,Thousands of anti-government protesters have been waging protest rallies in Bahrain since mid-February, demanding an end to the Al Khalifa dynasty, which has ruled the country for over 40 years.

Meanwhile, human rights activists have said the brutal Saudi-backed crackdown continues despite the so-called national dialogue between the ruling regime and opposition groups.

Human Rights First released a report on Thursday, July 14, highlighting the continuing intimidation, torture, detention of human rights defenders and shooting of civilians by the Al Khalifa regime.

This comes despite the ongoing so-called national dialogue between the regime and opposition groups to end the unrest.

“Human rights defenders with whom we spoke are wary that the dialogue is anything more than elaborate play-acting for the international community's benefit,” said Human Rights First's Brian Dooley.

In the latest round of violence, the regime's security forces clashed with youths in the Nuwaidrat village.

Further, an Irish fact-finding delegation that traveled to Bahrain to determine the condition of scores of doctors and medical workers detained on anti-government charges has been mobbed by pro-regime elements.

Additionally, both the United Nations Human Rights office and Amnesty International has criticized the Al Khalifa regime for its violations of international law by brutally cracking down on peaceful protesters and activists.

Scores of protesters have been killed -- many under torture -- and numerous others detained and transferred to unknown locations.

Bahraini activists say their protest campaign will continue until the nation's demands are met.
