State media announced on Saturday that Bahraini authorities had dropped charges relating to the freedom of expression against “343 individual suspects in 34 cases” linked to anti-regime demonstrations in February and March.

However, Matar Matar, a member of the main opposition group, al-Wefaq, censured the announcement, saying that it is “a media show.”

Al-Wefaq said on Friday that Bahraini security forces had attacked the headquarters of the group, located west of the capital, using tear gas and rubber bullets. Several people, including children, were injured in the attack, the group added.

Bahraini anti-regime protesters have expressed their determination to support “the cause of the martyrs of the revolution” despite a decision by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to “invite all parties, including the opposition, to post an adviser in his office to monitor the reconciliation and reform process.”
