yemen protest 560Yemeni opposition groups have condemned the country's government and President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi for failing to fulfill the demands of the people,Press TV reports.

“The government should submit its resignation. If it fails to do so the president should be banished, because he has failed to improve the current political situation and has failed to meet the demands of the Yemeni people,” Hashim al-Abara of Media and Information Center said.

The opposition groups, which also supported the country’s revolution, say the demands of the uprising have not been met so far as former dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh remains in the country.

The opposition groups have also denounced the US and Saudi Arabia’s “interference” in the country’s internal affairs, calling for an end to the foreign states’ interventions in Yemen.

The Yemenis also accused the United States and Saudi Arabia of being behind the country’s economic decline over the past years, saying that the two states are seeking their own interests in the country.

“Saudi Arabia and the United States are and have been the main roots of the problems, which Yemenis have been through for many years. The situation in Yemen cannot improve unless it becomes truly independent in its political affairs; therefore President Mansur Hadi needs to cut all political ties with Saudi Arabia and US,” Arif al-Kasabi of Unified Southern Youth Committee said.

Ahmed Abdullah Aka, a Yemeni protester who was critically injured during the revolution, said the young protesters ‘did not put their lives on the line just to reach a political stalemate.’

“We came out to express our demands of the revolution. However, they have not been met till this day, and the situation has actually deteriorated,” Aka maintained.
