hussain yamni“Ansarullah” group (Houthis) had received the remains of Hussein Badr Eddine Al-Houthi, the group founder, who died in the first Sa’ada war eight years ago.

The Yemeni Authorities had since then refused to declare the date of his death or to deliver his body.

The group said in a statement that the handover process has not yet been completed pending the results of the DNA test which is taking place outside Yemen to make sure that the remains belong to Al-Houthi.
In its statement, the group denied the operation was part of a deal with former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar mentioned on Thursday that Al-Houthi “was killed by the regime forces in Salman cave or what is called (Salman’s cliff) on September 10th 2004. That’s what the regime’s media and military sources stated then.
According to the sources, Al-Houthi was killed in Sana’a. While these sources didn’t reveal the real date of the killing, they assured that Al-Houthi was buried inside the central prison in Sana’a, which hints that he would have been killed there”.
