bishopsHeads of churches in Jordan renewed call for releasing Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo and Iskenderun, Bishop Paul Yazigi and Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo, Bishop John Ibrahim, who were kidnapped by an armed terrorist group in the countryside of Aleppo.

This issue raises lots of concerns regarding the kidnapped bishops' lives and the morale of the Syrian people, the statement added.

It pointed out that the Arab Christians are a genuine part of the Arab Islamic civilization, stressing that the continued abduction of bishops Yazigi and Ibrahim means the absence of "two of the most important Arab Christian figures today."
In the same context, bishops and representatives of churches in Jordan organized Tuesday evening a "silent march" in which they lit candles to express their support for the kidnapped bishops.

An armed terrorist group kidnapped bishops Yazigi and Ibrahim on the 22nd of last April while they were carrying out humanitarian work in northern Aleppo.
