Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Chief of Shia Ulema Council, has reiterated that Milli Yakjehti Council was ready to mediate between government and the Marchers (Imran Khan and Dr Tahir ul Qadri).

“Present critical situation is not in the interest of Pakistan. The parties need to resolve the unresolved issues between them and if they accept, our Council will mediate between them,” he said.

He said that MYC would play the role of mediator and also as a guarantor if the squabbling parties accept this role for them. He said that MYC would propose a comprehensive solution keeping in view constitutional, political and religious aspects of the stances of the quarrelling parties.

Allama Naqvi condemned the excesses of the police against the peaceful protestors. He said they should be brought to justice.
