shiitenews difa-e-pakistanThe Karachiites on Sunday rejected the Difa-e-Pakistan Council, a coalition of banned outfits involved in the killing of innocent Pakistani people by not participating in the meeting. Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) has completely failed to attract the Karachiites in its public meeting held at Bagh-e-Quaid as only few thousand people attended the meeting of 40 parties’ coalition.

Difa-e-Pakistan Council is a coalition of over 40 political and religious parties and some banned terrorist outfits that have been vocally demanding the government keep Nato supply routes closed and withdraw its decision to grant India the status of most-favoured nation.

Hundreds of flags of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba were witnessed in the all the main streets and at the meeting place but not a single flag of Pakistan was witnessed in the meeting of so-called Difa-e-Pakistan Council.

The people of Karachi and students of seminaries, who had warmly participated in the meetings of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam meetings held in Karachi, have completely boycotted the meeting of Difa-e-Pakistan council beside a thin attendance of seminaries students in the said meeting.

The central meeting of DPC in Karachi was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi at Bagh-e-Quaid, was addressed by Difa-e-Pakistan Council and JUI-S Chief Maulana Samiul Haq, JI chief Munnawar Hassan, banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief General (r) Hameed Gul, close-aide of Musharraf , AML President Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, chief of banned terrorist outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Ahmed Ludhianvi, Aide of Musharraf Muslim League Zia President Ejazul Haq, Chief of banned outfit Harkat-ul-Ansar Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman Khalil, PTI Central Wahabi leader Ejaz Chaudhry, JUP Chief Dr Abul Khar Mohammad Zubair, Owais Noorani, Wahabi Maulana Tahir Ashrafi and others.

Addressing the meeting, DPC and JUI-S Chief Maulana Samiul-Haq underlined the need of unity among the Pakistani people for the defense and stability of Pakistan.

He presented the 10 points agenda of Difa-e-Pakistan Council and said that the next meeting of the DPC will be held in Quetta on 27th February.

He said that the DPC had on its agenda that the country should be liberated from the aggression of the United States, which was being defeated in Afghanistan and wanted to avenge Pakistan by gearing up unrest in Balochistan.

He informed the audience of points of DPC agenda and said that the DPC was predetermined to ensure ban on NATO supplies and drone attacks would not be allowed. The DPC would struggle to keep Karachiites free from being divided on ethnic and sectarian grounds.

Despite the fact that the majority of the participants of banned outfits were chanting the slogans against Shia Muslims have exposed their sectarian intensions.

In his address, JI Pakistan Chief Syed Munawwar Hassan said that people have welcomed the DPC across the country, which was a manifest of their trust in the DPC.

The biggest challenge in the country was the US interference in country’s affairs as the latter has presumed the country was an easy prey. He said that the DPC was formed for the defence of country’s territorial and ideological boundaries and it would help people get rid of the corrupt rulers, from US dominance, and would strive for the eradication of poverty, hunger and joblessness.

He said that preparation for general elections were being processed and if these would be held under the aegis of Zardari and Gillani, the elected government would not last for more than 90 days especially because the elections would be engineered and would be in favour of the US. The government thus formed would be eliminated in 90 days if it would fail to address the grievances of the people of Balochistan.

The 10000 chairs setup for the public meeting, however, CCTV cameras were installed to ensure security at the rally, around 2,500 police personnel and 3000 Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) volunteers were also deployed for the security of the meeting.
