18 Shia Muslims of Gilgit-Baltistan province were martyred

shiitenews gilgitAt least 18 Shia Muslims were martyred and 7 were injured when terrorists targeted a bus carrying passengers to Gilgit on Tuesday morning.


People of the province were angry and grieved over the sad news. They have announced protest to be observed. Some analysts believe that the incident was part of ongoing genocide of Shia Muslims.

This trend of terrorism was witnessed in Balochistan province where Shia Muslims were targeted while they were going or returning from Ziarat.

The ferocious but cowardice act of terrorism occurred at Herban (Kohistan district) near Bhasha Dam. Injured were rushed to Chalas Hospital.

Divergent reports came from the area. Reports had it that bus was carrying 28 passengers but a TV channel reported 39 passengers were boarding the bus No.8371. Among 18 martyrs, 3 were women and another 3 were children, it was said.

"Armed men hiding on both sides of the road attacked the bus," local Police Chief Mohammad Ilyas was quoted by Geo TV channel as saying. It further said that terrorists were hiding on both sides of road and fired upon the bus. But, another report had it that the passengers were got alighted and lined up and then they were killed.
