Karachi police has launched a crackdown in order to arrest the culprits involved in damaging properties in Ashura incident. According to Karachi police, pictures of two suspects have been obtained from the city government's command and control system, who were seen in the footage setting the properties on fire and looting the shops. Central police office is holding a meeting to discuss strategies on immediate arrest of these culprits and pictures of these accused have been provided to the heads of related departments, and also to police and rangers. Shia leaders informed that police were arrested 7 shia youths from the metropolis rather then arresting the real miscreants involved in post bomb blast riots and fire incidents in the metropolis.

However,  Jaffaria Alliance president Allama Abbas Kumaili, Allama Furqan Haider Abidi, Agha Aftab Haider Jafari and Maulana Hussain Masoodi have condemned the arrest of shia youths in Karachi and asked the government to arrest the terrorists and their supporters involved in the bomb blast in the holiest procession of Ashura.

They warned the government to start country wide protest demonstration and rallies against the government, if the government will not immediately stop the crack down against Shia youths.

They claimed that dozens of shia youths were arrested by the police from the various areas saying that police administration have failed to protect the procession of Ashura.

They demanded of the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ebad and Home Minister Sindh Dr Zulfiqar Mirza to take serious notice of the arrest of innocent shia youths of the metropolis saying that this was the part of the conspiracy to destabilize the peace of Karachi.
