The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Monday acquitted 4 notorious takfiri nasbi terrorists of banned ASWJ who were convicted in the 2002 attack on Rawalpindi Imambargah leaving Shia Muslims and silent majority of Pakistanis deeply shocked.

The four convicted prisoners, Habibullah, Fazal Hameed, Tahir and Nasir, were arrested in connection with an attack on Shah-e-Najaf Imambargah in Rawalpindi in 2002 in which 11 Shia Muslims embraced martyrdom and 19 were injured.

They were sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in 2004.
Later, counsel of the convicts filed an intra-court appeal against the decision in LHC’s Rawalpindi bench.

Justice Ibad Ur Rehman and Justice Qazi Muhammad Ameen accepted the appeals and ordered immediate release of the convicted terrorists, observing death sentences were awarded over “insufficient” evidence.

Shia Muslims were sure that behind-the-scene-real-rulers of Pakistan would not tolerate hanging of their strategic assets and so far not a single takfiri terrorist involved in genocide against Shia Muslims has been hanged so far. The terrorists involved in attacks ob armed forces have been hanged.

The Monday verdict vindicated the position of silent majority of Pakistanis that powers that be have not abandoned their previous policy aimed at sponsoring takfiris in Pakistan.
