Almost all major parties and groups backed the call of the Shia party Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen for a Sindh-wide peaceful commercial strike on Saturday.

Following funeral prayers for some of the victims, various parties including MWM protested against the tragedy at Lakhi Dar Chowk along with the bodies of the deceased.

All markets and shops are shut in Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Sehwan Sharif, Kotri, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Matli, Tando Bago, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Sanghar, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Dadu, Khairpur, Thatta, Umer Kot and Hyderabad. Markets were also closed in Naushehro Feroze and Nawabshah while traffic was scarce too. Karachi is also shares grief and sorrow of Shia Muslims.

Lawyers boycotted court proceedings today on a call from Karachi Bar and Sindh Bar Councils and Lawyers Associations.

The Shia massacre in Shikarpur has saddened every citizen in Pakistan, especially in Sindh province, that voluntarily expressed condolence by a complete shutdown on a call from Shia organization Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan that was also backed by Jafaria Alliance and Shia Ulema Council.

MWM leaders have thanked all the political parties who have announced their support to the call for shutdown strike.
