A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court upheld the capital punishment awarded to the mastermind of Sakhi Sarwar shrine twin suicide bombings and life imprisonment to a ‘would-be suicide bomber’ who is a Wahhabis-allied Deobandi takfiri Taliban who the Deobandi seminaries in all over Pakistan project as their heroes.

The Lahore High Court Multan Bench upheld conviction of a terrorist of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban in a suicide attack case. Taliban have been an ally of Pakistan-based Deobandi terrorist outfits such as outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba/ASWJ/LeJ, Jaish-e-Mohammad.

According to a press release issued here, the bench comprising Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad rejected the appeal of Behram Khan and upheld the full sentence of Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) Dera Ghazi Khan in PPC 302, 7-ATA and Explosive Substances Act. Deputy Prosecutors General Malik Riaz and Abdul Wadood represented the state.

The convict Behram Khan Alias Sufi Baba was arrested from Darbar Sakhi Sarwar immediately after the suicide attack on April 3, 2011, in which 54 people Sunni and Shia Muslims were martyred and 76 others were injured. Behram Khan was also a suicide attacker who failed to blast his jacket and was arrested on the pointation of Deobandi takfiri Umar who too failed to detonate and held in injured condition. The ATC Dera Ghazi Khan had awarded death penalty on 54 counts to the accused, life Imprisonment, imprisonment of 10 years on 76 counts and a fine of Rs 5.2 million on March 6, 2013.

However, the court rejected the appeal of the prosecution against four more Deobandis who were acquitted by the trial court.

In March 2013, DG Khan Anti-Terrorism Court No. 2 Judge Asif Majeed Awan announced the verdict after a 22-month trail while he was reportedly receiving threats from terrorists.

Two blasts on April 3, 2011, at the Sakhi Sarwar shrine had claimed 52 lives and injuries to 172 people, including women and children. Two FIRs were registered with Sakhi Sarwar police station by the Border Military Police and DG Khan district police. Umar was one of three suicide bombers present at the time of the attack.
Umar’s jacket did not detonate and he was arrested in a critical condition. Umar told the investigators that Behram had planned and supplied everything to all those involved.

Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq and Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin upheld the punishment of both convicts while rejecting the appeal of prosecution against the acquittal of Muhammad Asghar, Bashir Ahmed, Farooq and Salim Jan.
Initial hearings of the case were held at the anti-terrorism court No. 2 in Dera Ghazi Khan and later the trial was conducted at DG Khan Central Jail.

Many Islamic saints are adored and respected in high esteem by Sunni and Shia Muslims alike but Saudi monarchy’s official religion Wahhabism and their allied Deobandis are those takfiris who don’t consider Sunni Bralevis and Shia Muslims as true Muslims and Wahhabis continue to attack holy shrines of great Islamic saints in Syria and Iraq and Wahhabis-allied Deobandis attack shrines in Pakistan. Even Hindus and Christians respect the Muslims shrines and come to offer their respect at annual festivals.
