chalasChief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan province stopped cable operators from broadcasting Chilas Tragedy’s video that was to be aired by Hidayat TV Channel on Wednesday night.
The video of Chilas Tragedy has exposed terrorists and failure of the administration, security forces

and judiciary. This video still remains secret from a vast majority of Pakistanis.

Hidayat TV channel had announced it would broadcast the video on Wednesday night. People of Gilgit-Baltistan in particular were waiting to watch that video. Independent observers and analysts say that ordering cable operators not to show people Hidayat TV channel is violation of freedom of expression.

They say that people reserve their right to know the facts about the tragedy in which hundreds of terrorists hijacked buses and perpetrated heinous and inhuman crime of massacre. They selected Shias and targeted them. Many Shias were martyred. Government, security forces and judiciary failed to nab the terrorists. A case against only 7 accused is not enough to satisfy the victims.

Shia Muslims had demanded that an alternate road between Pindi and Gilgit-Baltistan be constructed. They demanded that Karakoram Highway be handed over to the armed forces, fares of PIA flights be reduced and all-weather air travelling should also be arranged. None of the demands were met so far.

The Shia organisations have expressed surprise that judiciary takes suo motu notice of murder of two women but they had not yet taken any notice of Chilas Tragedy.
