Shia organisations staged sit-in, demo against PPP for occupation of Imam Bargah

mwm dadoShia organisations of Dadu district staged a sit-in and demonstration on Sunday at SP Chowk to protest against the occupation of Imam Bargah Hussaini Seeta City by PPP MPA Imran Zafar Leghari and his henchmen.


Allama Mukhtar Imami, provincial secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), Nishan Sajidi of MWM Khairpur, Maulana Gul Mohammad Tahiri, Friday prayer leader of Moro, Shafqat Langah of ISO, M Alam Shaikh of Asgharia Organisation, Amir Kazmi of Hizb al Mehdi and Maulana Ghulam Shabbir Chandio of Badin spoke to the protestors.

They said that on one hand PPP government had failed to protect the lives of Shia Muslims and on the other its eminent figures were involved in attack on and occupation of Shia Muslims sanctities.

More than 3000 protestors were raising slogans against the PPP government and the MPA. They lifted flags, banners and placards. They were demanding action against the PPP MPA Leghari and his henchmen. They said that 8 Shias were injured in the attack.

They said that President Asif Zardari must clarify his position if he sides with his MPA and if he doesn’t he must take action against Imran Zafar Leghari and order to give the control of Imam Bargah Hussaini back to its owners.

Later, speaking at a press conference at press club Dadu, the said leaders announced that no Shia would vote for any party or candidates who support anti-Shia terrorists and hooligans. They announced that they would boycott all such parties, groups and candidates in the Elections.
