The March was aimed at venting anger over an anti-Islam film produced in the U.S. It was planned to be culminated at Tibet Centre but other rallies had occupied the space, hence the Labbaik Ya Muhammad (SAWW) March was staged from Numaish to Britto Road.

The leaders of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) namely Maulana Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Maulana Mirza Yousuf, Maulana Sadiq Taqvi, Qazi Ahmed Noorani Siddiqui and Aqeel Anjum spoke to the protestors.

They said that Arab and Islamic governments should press for enforcement of international law banning insults to Islam and other religions.

The MWM’s supporters reached the venue in rallies from almost all parts of Karachi city to register protest against the sacrilegious film made by United States. The participants of the March were lifting the portraits of martyr Ali Raza Taqvi and flags of “Labbaik Ya Mohammad (pbuh)” and Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen.

The leaders of the MWM and the JUP said lack of such laws has resulted in the production of the U.S. film that insults Islam's Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). They also urged removal of the sacrilegious film from the Internet and warned about the dire consequences of broadcasting the entire film.

They said that followers of Islam will not remain silent in the face of humiliation and that the world needs to know that "we sacrifice our lives for our Prophet (SAWW)".
