Lashkar e Jhangvi could kill Ahmed Ludhianvi: Intelligence agencies’ report

It has been revealed that some of the banned extremist organizations of the country have links with Baluchistan’s rebel groups. After the report of prospective alliance of BLA, Lashkar e Jhangvi, Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan, Al-Qaeda, Jaish Muhammad, Tehreek e Ghalba e Islma and Jaish Islam it is possible that some cities and important personalities of the country could be targeted. Intelligence agencies have also reported of contacts between arrested commanders of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan upon which Home department Punjab has ordered regional police officers to keep an eye on activities of banned organizations including Lashkar e Jhangvi. On orders of Home Secretary Punjab, Additional Secretary Internal Security, in the report that was sent to senior police officials, said that two names have come up for the leadership of Lashkar e Jhangvi, one is Akram Lahori who is in Sindh Jail and the other is Alam Tariq, who is the brother of Molana Azam Tariq. One of them could be selected as the head of Lashkar e Jhangvi.  

 

Sources told that new intelligence reports have been issued after Multan and Peshawar attacks according to which links between Baloch rebel groups and banned extremist organizations have been revealed. Home department has sent the report to all regional police officers and CCPO Lahore and it says that Akram Lahori has been revealed to be selected as the new head of LeJ and there is information that LeJ’s operational Commander Rizwan Asif (famously known as Chotu) has contacted Akram Lahori in jail. Intelligence officials have informed that Molana Rehman, who is the Deputy operational commander of LeJ and upon whom there is a prize money of ten million, could be hiding somewhere in FATA. 

 

Intelligence agencies have reported that sleeper cells of some banned organizations are also present in different cities that may include Karachi, Sukkur, Naseerabad, Larkana, Quetta, Mastung, Bolan, Moosa Khail, Jaafar abad, Bahawalpur, Multan, DG Khan, Rajan Pur, Laiyya, Bhakkar, Atak, Hangu, Hari Pur, Abbottabad, Dia meer and Gilgit. These sleeper cells could carry out terrorist acts in near future. According to the report, some important leaders of LeJ are angry with Ahl e Sunnat wal Jamaat’s head Muhammad Ahmed Lundhianvi and he could be killed over this. Intelligence department, in the report, said that it is the need of time to carry out an operation against sectarian extremist organizations, in different cities and action be taken against their supporters and other people involved in illegal activities. Captives of LeJ and TTP should be stopped from contacting outside the jail as they are still connected with people outside the jails. Systems of jails need to be checked to find out how they have maintained connections with the outside world. Contacts between police of different provinces should be increased, a mechanism should be created between them so that religious extremists could be arrested when they run from one province and take refuge in another.
