Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police on Friday claimed to have arrested three suspected militants belonging to a banned outfit from Peshawar's Badaber area.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations Mian Saeed told media representatives that three militant commanders namely Naseer, Hazrat Sher and Zarma Khan were taken into custody from Badaber.

"All three belong to a banned outfit operating from Khyber Agency; two hand grenades, a pistol and a Sub-Machine gun (SMG) was recovered from the trio," said the SSP.

At least 42 people, including 14 terrorists, were killed as the PAF camp in Badaber had come under attack by Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants on September 18.

In a similar development in Swat district of KP, officials from the anti-terrorism squad nabbed a wanted terrorist Ghazi Akbar alias Mandray from Matta tehsil of the valley during a search operation.

The accused has been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.

ATS officials claimed that that Akbar was a wanted terrorist involved in a number of attacks on security forces.
