Loud Speaker Act, district banning, language banning and bans on historical processions are not acceptable: Joint Press Conference

Representative parties of Millat e Jafaria, in a press conference held at Nishtar Park Karachi against the extremist elements creating problems in azadaari in name of Loud Speaker Act, said “Mourning of the Grandson of the Last Prophet (PBUH) is in fact the name of remembering and mourning the people who were repressed at Karbala but supporters of religious extremists in Sindh and Punjab governments have been conspiring against azadaari and trying to limit it in name of NAP, governments of Punjab and Sindh have been using the names of Apex Committee, Pakistan’s armed forces and Rangers that they have been pressurizing to ban and limit azadaari. We demand General Raheel Sharif to take notice of these so that the conspiracy for defaming the armed forces of Pakistan could be foiled.

We also appeal to DG Rangers Sindh to stop his officials from interfering in the mourning congregations in name the Loud Speaker Act. Whole Millat e Jafaria is angry and sad over such actions because CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah had blamed Rangers in a meeting of religious scholars and said that the Sindh government exempted mourning congregations and processions form the Loud Speaker act but Rangers had been creating hindrances therefore, Rangers should immediately clear their stance so that any uncertain situation could be avoided. We once again aim for not tolerating any ban, conspiracy or restriction on mourning of Imam Hussain (as). In this land of Pakistan that was achieved in name of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Ahl e Bait (as), no restriction on remembering martyrs of Karbala and Imam Hussain (as) will be accepted. We hope that General Raheel Sharif will understand our request so that Pakistan, engulfed in internal problems, will not become a victim of black sheep’s conspiracies. Sindh and Punjab governments have been acting upon the agenda of terrorists and these nefarious elements do not want the NAP to be acted upon in it true essence. Despite all difficulties, we supported the NAP but we want to make it clear that we will not tolerate the misuse of NAP.  Loud Speaker act, ban on districts, language and on historical processions will not be tolerated. Mourning of Imam Hussain (as) is our legal and constitutional right, constitution of Pakistan gives this right to all schools of thought and snatching this right is similar to the violation of basic Human Rights. Governments of Sindh, Punjab and KPK should beware that any ban or restriction on azadaari will not be tolerated at any cost and we hope that our requests will be considered otherwise severe nationwide protest will be conducted and all the responsibility will be on the rulers and we will not be the ones to be blamed for derailing the democracy. We will not refrain from taking any legal step against the government’s conspiracies”.
