ECP failed to hold transparent elections in the city: Ali Hussain Naqvi

Political secretary of MWM Ali Hussain Naqvi said that Election Commission of Pakistan had failed to hold transparent Local elections in Karachi. He also claimed that members of a political party committed electoral fraud and threatened polling agents and voters in UC 11 Malir, 12 Soldier Bazar and 24 Incholi Society but ECP and law enforcement agencies were nowhere to be seen to control the situation.

In a statement issued from Wahdat House Ali Naqvi said “ECP and Law enforcement agencies had made cosmetic arrangements for LG polls and the authorities given to Rangers by the magistrate also proved deceitful. 20 candidates of MWM took part in LG polls from areas where MWM’s voters are in majority and the party had gained more votes than MQM and PPP from those areas in past but this time it feels that political Taliban already had some kind of an agreement with agencies for LG elections due to which law enforcement personnel were absent from extremely sensitive polling stations. Several complaints were also registered against electoral fraud, fake votes and people carrying arms but ECP and law enforcement agencies did not take any notice of such acts which falsified ECP’s claims of transparent elections”.

Ali Hussain Naqvi also condemned threats given to MWM’s voters and polling agents and also thanked people of UC 11 Malir, 162Soldier Bazar and 24 Incholi Society for voting MWM and bringing it on 2nd number with only a slight difference.
