ISI declared Molana Abdul Aziz’s allegations as baseless

Shiite News: Deposed Lal Masjid cleric Molana Abdul Aziz has alleged that an officer from the country’s senior intelligence agency was ‘conspiring’ against him, while other officials were in contact with him to resolve the conflicts between the two sides.

In a video message released via the official Facebook page of Lal Masjid and Jama’a Hafsa, Molana Abdul Aziz claimed that he was in contact with an ISI officer. He also claimed that when negotiations were moving in the right direction, another officer tried to sabotage it.

According to Molana Abdul Aziz, one of his followers told him that a Brigadier from ISI (who belong to a different sect) had been conspiring against him. He said ‘I know they have been making fake videos against me in which I have been accuse for taking extortion’.

Molana also claimed that intelligence agencies were promoting extremism in the country with their attitude. Deposed cleric of Lal Masjid said in the video ‘a major recently came to meet me so that we both can understand each other’.

On the other hand ISI’s spokesperson, whose identity was not revealed by the newspaper, while talking to Dawn rejected Molana Abdul Aziz’s claims and declared it ‘propaganda’ and said that no major from intelligence agency had met him. He further said ‘Molana Abdul Aziz has a record of making up false stories and there has been no contact between him and any official of intelligence agencies’.

An officer of Islamabad’s local administration, on condition of anonymity, told that Islamabad police officials and members of local administration had met Molana Abdul Aziz so that he could obtain pre-arrest bail from court. He said ‘it is strange that we see him roaming around the city, buying fruits from street vendors’.

Molana Abdul Aziz had also made sectarian remarks in the video and claimed that people with last names such as Shah, Haidri and Shaheedi were involved in the killing of Ahl e Sunnat Ulema, including his father.
