logo mwmMajlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has set new trends in Pakistan’s electoral politics by fielding a blind person as a candidate to contest from Karachi-based constituency of Sindh Assembly.
This was stated by Nasir Abbas Shirazi, secretary for political affairs of the MWM while speaking at a

seminar on “Role of Shiites in National Politics” that was held in Punjab’s Toba Tek Singh City. Rana Shahid Hussain, local official of the MWM presided over the seminar. More than 250 delegates including eminent scholar, Maulana Zaigham Hussain, former district nazim, tehsil nazims and councilors and electoral candidates of the MWM attended the seminar.

Nasir Abbas Shirazi said that the MWM has also introduced a new trend in the politics of Pakistan by opposing the oppressors and backing strongly the oppressed people.

“Now, all parties have to call a spade a spade and oppose the oppressors and help the oppressed people, otherwise they will not be able to continue their political career,” he said.

He proudly disclosed that the MWM is first Shia party in Pakistan that has awarded candidature to the Sunni Muslims as well because MWM believes in Shia-Sunni unity and united efforts against the common enemies of Islam and Pakistan. He said that Sunni and Shia together would defeat the takfiri terrorists and their allies.

Similarly, the MWM is the first Shia party that has fielded women candidates in the general elections 2013.

Other speakers who spoke at the seminar stressed on the unity of Ummah saying that the enemies had been united so Ummah should also join hands and strengthen the bond of unity.
