agha rahatFriday prayer leader of central Imamia Jamey Masjid Gilgit Allama Rahat Hussain al Hussaini has demanded an end to witch-hunt against Shia youths in Gilgit-Baltistan.

“Biased officials in the Gilgit-Baltistan administration have launched a unilateral and unjustifiable

crackdown on Shia Muslims,” said Allama Rahat Hussaini in his Friday prayer sermon.

He warned that the Shiites would resort to a protest movement if the innocent Shia Muslims who were detained so far are not released forthwith.

He said that the corrupt and biased officials have hatched plots against Shiites and several innocent and well-educated Shia youths were booked in false cases. He said that they were subjected to inhuman torture to force them to confess the crimes they have nothing to do with. Thus their future is put at stake.

“The terrorists involved in the tragic massacres of Kohistan, Chilas, Lolusar and Manawar have been given free hand. These terrorists, their allies and patrons are free to do what they want and this is a challenge to the peaceful future of Gilgit-Baltistan,” he warned.

Allama Rahat Hussaini demanded of the Chief Minister, Governor, Chief Secretary and Force Commander Gilgit-Baltistan to take notice of the unjust and biased policy against the Shia youths and order for immediate release of all detained Shiites.
