mwm jhangFinally, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has announced its support to the PMLN candidate Shaikh Mohammad Akram and Akhtar Shirazi in election to National Assembly and Punjab Assembly from Jhang district.

In the presence of Allama Shafqat Shirazi, Nasir Abbas Shirazi and Abdul Khalid Asadi of the MWM, Shaikh Waqas Akram, former MNA and now a PMLN leader expressed his thanks for the MWM support at a largely attended press conference at Imam Bargah Qasr-e-Abbas.

Shaikh Mohammad Akram is father of Shaikh Waqas Akram and a PMLN candidate from NA- 89 while Akhtar Shirazi is a candidate from PP-78. Ahmed Ludhianvi, chief of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba and outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has taken the shelter of Muttahida Deeni Mahaz to contest elections from said two constituencies. Ludhianvi, a takfiri nasbi terrorist gangster has renamed his group as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat.

Position of Shaikh Akram and Akhtar Shirazi has been stronger after MWM’s support. Shia Ulema Council had earlier announced support to Shaikh Akram. However, Shia Ulema Council had also announced support for Shaikh Yaqub who was an ally of Ludhianvi in the last elections. Fortunately, he was disqualified because he is a loan defaulter.

Shaikh Waqas Akram said that stage was set for a humiliating defeat of the terrorist chief Ludhianvi. He assured that he would remove the reservations of Shiites and work hard to win hearts and minds of Shia Muslims of Jhang.

Nasir Shirazi of the MWM said that it was a great show of Shia-Sunni unity. He said that Shiites of Jhang endorsed the MWM’s stance.
