Fourth anniversary of Ali Raza Taqvi’s martyrdom was observed on Saturday. Mr. Taqvi, an active Shia Muslim embraced martyrdom due to his protest against the violation of sanctity of Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), last apostle and prophet of God outside United States Consulate in Karachi in September 2012.

A condolence reference was held on the anniversary of martyr Taqvi by Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Karachi chapter at Jamey Masjid al-Mustafa Abbas Town on Saturday night. Hujjatul Islam Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi spoke there.
He praised martyr Taqvi saying that Ali Raza Taqvi was a modest and valiant person and he detested the profane film that was aimed at desecrating the sanctities of Islam and in particular the sanctity of Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him and his Ahl-e-Bait).
He said Ali Raza Taqvi was shot outside US Consulate in Karachi despite the fact that he was part of a peaceful protest organized by Shia Muslims against the said profane movie. He said that US administration failed to take action against the fanatic who perpetrated sacrilege and that forced Muslims around the world to protest against the US administration as well.
Allama Ahmed Iqbal said that martyrs never die but they remain alive forever because of divine reward bestowed upon them hence martyr Taqvi was very much alive but sinful people of this world lack ability and divine sense to see him. He vowed that MWM would never forget its martyrs and Ali Raza Taqvi also was a great asset of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.
Another condolence reference is being held today in New Rizvia Society where Hujjatul Islam Allama Ali Murtaza Zaidi and martyr’s brother Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi will speak tonight.
