The law enforcement agencies late on Thursday night killed commander of a banned outfit Jundullah during an action in Hub area of Balochistan, sources said.

In a joint action, Rangers, Frontier Corps and police gunned down Ameer (Commander) of proscribed organization Jundullah, Arif alia Saqib after exchange of fire.

According to sources Arif was mastermind of suicide attacks in Karachi and Balochistan.

Huge cache of arms and ammunition was seized during the action.

Balochistan - Pakistan's largest province in terms of land area - has been plagued by a nexus of separatist insurgency and Deobandi militancy for several years now.

Security forces have conducted effective operations cracking down on terrorists and miscreants, which has led to a considerable drop in militancy across the province.

However, scattered attacks and criminal activities are still reported at times, yet not that massive and often as it used to be in the past.
